On September 2nd, undergraduates of WUT embarked on the first day of the 2024 fall semester. The campus buzzed with renewed vitality as both faculty and students commenced the new academic year with enthusiasm and vigor.
In the classrooms, teachers warmly greeted their students, “How was your holiday?” while in the dormitories, roommates joyfully exchanged greetings, saying, “It’s been a while. I missed you!” Cafeteria staff welcomed returning students with smiles, saying, “Welcome back!” The joy of reunion was evident on everyone’s faces as they returned from the holidays.
At 8:00 am, the first bell rang, marking the start of classes in 802 classrooms across the campus. In these classrooms, teachers delivered their lessons with passion, while students listened attentively, creating an orderly atmosphere. In the library, students immersed themselves in a sea of knowledge, with the sounds of turning pages and writing. In laboratories, everyone was fully engaged in their research diligently,. The campus was revitalized with teachers and students.
On the first day, the university leaders looked deep into the classrooms to thoroughly understand the teaching operations and service guarantees. They also engaged in warm exchanges with both teachers and students.
Students from different colleges also expressed their aspirations for the new semester. Liu Jiahui, a 2021 undergraduate from the School of Marxism said, “A new semester marks a new beginning. I hope to immerse myself in my studies, work diligently, explore more exciting university life.” Hou Weitao, a 2022 undergraduate from the School of Transportation and Logistics Engineering, remarked, “A new semester brings new changes. The campus environment has been optimized, and the dormitories have been upgraded. Everything is thriving and full of hope.”
In preparation for the new semester, all school departments actively promoted the construction of information systems and meticulously completed all preparations for the start of the semester. The Undergraduate School, together with the Network Center and the Office of Logistics Management, conducted a comprehensive inspection of classroom teaching facilities, ensuring optimal conditions for teaching. WUT Logistics Group carried out renovations, and upgrades to five cafeterias, including the Shui Yun Second Cafeteria, the second floor of Yun Yuan Cafeteria, and the Ya Yuan Cafeteria, as well as the Zhuo Yuan store of the Education Supermarket, all of which now present a fresh, new look to serve the university community. Before the start of the semester, the school conducted on-site inspections of all teaching facilities, student living facilities, laboratories, and safety production areas to ensure the smooth progress of all activitiesfor the 2024 fall semester.
As the new semester unfolds, with new goals set and a new journey ahead, may the autumn season and the prime of youth be cherished, and may faculty and students alike write even more brilliant chapters in the course of this academic year.
