On January 3rd, the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education held the 2025 International Education Program Seminar in Beijing. The seminar aimed to advance the sustainable and high-quality development of international education programs and to better support the internationalization strategies of higher education institutions. Vice President Luo Rong attended the event on behalf of Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and delivered a keynote address.
At the seminar, CSCSE Director Wang Daquan presented a keynote report.
Participating institutions shared insights on three key areas: the main highlights of their achievements in 2024, consensus on major issues such as the nature, goals, and principles of programs amid new circumstances and challenges, and exploring sustainable, high-quality pathways for aligning programs with the internationalization strategies of higher education institutions.
WUT Vice President Luo Rong delivered a keynote speech titled “Implementing the Educational Power Strategy and Deepening International Cooperation through School-Enterprise Collaboration” on behalf of the university.
In her speech, Luo emphasized that on June 18, 2024, Director Wang Daquan and his team visited the university to inspect its Intelligent Operations Center and Digital Education Experience and Service Center. During this visit, they guided the university in accelerating its digital transformation, implementing internationalization strategies, and developing international education programs. Director Wang and WUT President Yang Zongkai jointly signed two pivotal agreements: the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement and the Study Abroad Training Program Cooperation Agreement, discussing topics such as the digital transformation of academic credential verification, standards and systems for digital education courses, and collaborative overseas study programs. Under these agreements, WUT will strengthen its study abroad training programs, build a strong program brand, and continuously enhance its international education capabilities. Working alongside peer institutions, the university aims to create a platform for international educational cooperation, promote two-way talent mobility for both studying abroad and studying in China, and deepen partnerships between academia and industry. These efforts align with China’s national strategy of building an education powerhouse.
During group discussions, participating institutions explored pathways for sustainably developing international education programs in alignment with China’s vision of becoming an educational powerhouse. These discussions laid a solid foundation for raising the level and scope of cooperation among institutions and for shaping a study abroad service framework aligned with the requirements of high-level educational openness.
