From July 16 to 19, the 8th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS 2025) was successfully convened in Granada, Spain. The conference was co-hosted by the China Communications and Transportation Association, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society, and jointly organized by the University of Granada, Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), and Liverpool John Moores University. Over 150 experts and scholars from more than 20 countries and regions gathered to exchange views on cutting-edge technologies and future trends in transportation information and safety. Zhang Di, Vice President of WUT, delivered a speech and chaired the plenary lecture session. Yan Xinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the conference.
Under the theme “Transportation + Artificial Intelligence & Green Energy: Building a Sustainable World”, the conference boasted 7 plenary speakers and 18 parallel sessions covering diverse fields including road, waterway, railway, and civil aviation. Each session incorporated invited talks and in-depth discussions among paper authors.
The organizing committee announced that the 9th ICTIS will be held in 2027 in Singapore, co-organized by the National University of Singapore, the Institute of High Performance Computing under A*STAR, and WUT.
Initiated by WUT, ICTIS is a biennial international academic conference. Since its inception in Wuhan in 2011, it has been held in Banff (Canada), Liverpool (UK), Xi’an (China), and other cities. Over the past decade, ICTIS has developed into one of the most influential academic conferences in the transportation field, providing a vital platform for global exchange and cooperation.
