On September 1st, Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) embraced the first day of the 2025 Fall semester. As dawn broke and a light drizzle refreshed the campus, students and faculty stepped into the new term with high aspirations and renewed enthusiasm.

At 8:00 a.m., the ringing of the first class bell signaled the beginning of 208 courses across the university. The lecture halls resonated with the vibrant voices of teaching. Inside the classrooms, pages rustled as pens raced to capture flashes of insight. Outside the dorms, students helped one another shield their books from the rain; in the dining halls, staff reminded warmly, “Have something hot on this rainy day”; in laboratories, equipment hummed with renewed vigor... Dedicated students, committed faculty, and hardworking campus staff together brought vitality to the new semester, embarking on the journey ahead with confidence and determination.

“Did you get caught in the rain on your way?”  “Do these new desks fit you well?” University leaders visited classrooms to gain a detailed understanding of teaching operations and logistical support. They interacted warmly with students and faculty, encouraging them to pursue innovation and progress with determination.

Students from various colleges expressed hopes for the new semester. Chen Rui, a 2024 undergraduate from the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering, said: “A new semester is a new beginning. I hope to immerse myself in studying, stay grounded, and explore an even more wonderful university life.” Zhao Yifan, a 2022 undergraduate from the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, expressed with excitement: “In harmony with the times and in step with WUT’s spirit, I look forward to leaving my unique mark of youth on campus this new semester!”

To ensure a smooth and well-prepared start, university leaders conducted on-site inspections of teaching facilities, student amenities, laboratories, and safety-critical areas. Departments across the university advanced initiatives to enhance services and optimize the campus environment.

The Logistics Management Office and property companies carried out special actions for mosquito control on the Mafangshan and Nanhu campuses and upgraded the water and electricity management system. WUT Yujiatou Campus Management Committee pushed forward campus renovation projects during the summer vacation, further improving the educational environment to create a safe, comfortable, and pleasant campus atmosphere for the new semester. The cafeterias will fully implement a price reduction and quality improvement initiative while enhancing the dining environment, aiming to enhance both the sense of well-being and satisfaction among faculty and students.
