On March 2, the 2026 spring semester officially began at Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). The campus was vibrant with energy as teachers and students, filled with hope and aspiration, set out on a new journey of knowledge and exploration.

At 8:00 AM, as the first class bell rang, 954 classrooms across the university delivered the opening lectures of the new semester. In the classrooms, teaching proceeded in an orderly manner. Teachers and students were engaged in lively interaction where ideas were actively exchanged. Inside the library, students immersed themselves in books, delving deeply into their studies, absorbed in their work. In the laboratories, faculty and students collaborated seamlessly, deeply engrossed in tackling challenges, with research and exploration conducted rigorously and systematically. In the cafeteria, the steam rising from freshly cooked meals, along with the familiar aromas and warm greetings from the cafeteria staff, offered busy students a touch of down-to-earth warmth.

Secretary of the CPC WUT Committee Meng Fangbing, President Wang Fazhou, Deputy Secretary of the CPC WUT Committee Li Chaoxin, and Vice President Li Zhengying visited classrooms to gain firsthand insights into teaching activities, engaged in warm conversations with teachers and students, and expressed hopeful expectations for the new semester.
Wu Bingxiang, a 2025 undergraduate from the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering, said, “I can’t believe the new semester has already arrived. At this new starting point, I’m setting some new goals. I hope to learn more this semester, experience a richer and more diverse university life, and meet a better version of myself.”
Yang Guangyi, a 2022 undergraduate from the School of Law, Humanities and Sociology, shared with us, “In the new semester, I aim to solidify my professional foundation, broaden my knowledge horizons, and enhance my comprehensive abilities, so as to prepare well for my future development.”
During the winter vacation, teachers and students continued their research without pause, and students showcased their talents through practical activities. They made full use of this period by devoting themselves to scientific exploration and practical services, writing a brilliant chapter of youth through concrete actions. In preparation for the new semester, the university conducted on-site inspections of teaching and living facilities, laboratories, and work safety to ensure the smooth progression of all tasks for the 2026 spring semester. All departments had made advance arrangements and gone all out to ensure comprehensive support. WUT Logistics Group carried out safety inspections, and necessary maintenance and upgrades of the canteen’s natural gas pipelines. WUT Yujiatou Campus Management Committee organized in-depth cleaning and disinfection of the campus environment, along with comprehensive inspections and maintenance of teaching facilities, water and electricity networks, etc., to create a safe and comfortable environment for teachers and students.
New semester means a new starting point. May teachers and students ride the waves and forge ahead courageously in this semester, with the pioneering spirit of “taking the lead” and the confidence to “achieve immediate success”.
